When I started working on it I had some considerations. First consideration what that I want to focus on game play and play balance. As a avid Unreal player I wanted to create something that had a good degree of difficulty. The last consideration is that I wanted to create a sense of chaos with in the confines of a small map. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Here are couple things that I learned along the way.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;1. I needed to cut some content out of the level so that I could get a decent frame with very little lag.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;2. AI makes all of the difference. This level has AI pathing and cover for all of the bots that are spawned.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;3. I have a lot of experience with other 3D applications. But I will need to learn how to optimize Unreal's materials.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Mistakes made&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;1. Start Small&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;2. Environment traps are fun and annoying at the same time. However when using them in a small space they are not that necessary.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;About the map&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Size 2048 x 2048&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Number of Bot Spawn: 8&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Some of the NPCs have built in cheats (God Mode) to make the game play harder&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Map Type: Unreal Game&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Below is a fly-through of the level. My next attempt I will focus solely on the AI and developing solutions for myself and try to move away from using tutorials for the AI behavior.
